Meetings

Pack and Den meetings take place on Wednesdays at the Mount Oso Lodge from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Den meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, and Pack meetings are the 4th Wednesday of the month. These meetings will happen during the months of September to May. Some Dens will hold additional supplemental weekend outings. Pack and den meetings are not a drop-off activity.

The Pack meeting is for all Cub Scouts of every rank. Keep in mind that this is a time for your Scout to receive recognition and display the good work they and their Den-mates have done that month. They will be proud to show you what they are working on and you should use this time as an opportunity to encourage them to continue to work hard.

Siblings may attend the Pack meeting but only as long as parents are able to actively supervise so they do not become a distraction to the Cub Scouts. It is also important to note that Pack Meetings are about the Scouts. Parents are encouraged to participate with their Cub Scouts and help leaders with activities. Parents are highly discouraged from using electronics or cell phones during meetings unless there is an emergency. The more you are involved with your Cub Scouts, the more they will be excited to participate and enjoy spending quality time with you!

Parent Involvement

One of the most critical elements of a successful Scouting experience is having involved Scout
Parents. It is proven that Scouts whose parents actively support their activities and get involved,
perform better. You can make a HUGE difference in your child’s Scouting experience when you:

  • Guide your Cub Scout: Help him to understand and accomplish the achievements
required for each rank. Show interest in and appreciation for his accomplishments and the
    new things he is learning.
  • Be on time for all pack and den meetings: Den and Pack meetings are action-packed and
start on time. Please be sure to RSVP for pack meetings, den meetings and events via
    Scoutbook.
  • Support your Den Leader: Take the initiative to ask how you can help your Den and Pack
    during the year.
  • Get involved by volunteering: In order to successfully carry out the wide variety of
activities throughout the year, we need help from EVERY Pack family. We expect that an
adult from each family who is not already serving in the role of a Den Leader or other pack
leadership role volunteer to help with at least one task during the year.
